Romans 10:9 -- If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord,"

5. COMMANDMENTS

The Commandments of God (The Ten Commandments) are to be understood just as God presented them.

Deuteronomy 4:13 -- He declared to you his covenant, the Ten Commandments, which he commanded you to follow and then wrote them on two stone tablets.

Revelation 12:17 -- Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring -- those who keep the Commandments of God, and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.

Revelation 14:12 -- Here are those who keep the Commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

God's purpose is that the Commandments remain free of human interference or modification.

Matthew 15:3-9 -- Jesus replied, "And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?  For God said, 'Honour your father and mother' [This being the 5th Commandment]  But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is 'devoted to God,'  they are not to 'honour their father or mother' with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.  You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:  "'These people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.  They worship me in vain; teaching their own doctrines -- the 'traditions of men.'

Jesus fully upheld the Commandments.

Matthew 15:3 -- [5th Commandment] Honour your father and mother

Matthew 15:19 -- [6th Commandment] Murder

Matthew 15:19 -- [7th Commandment] Adultery, sexual immorality

Matthew 15:19 -- [8th Commandment] Theft

Matthew 15:19 -- [9th Commandment] False testimony, slander

6. MORTALITY
We are mortal, we die. Apart from the Resurrection, all mankind would remain lifeless and non-conscious throughout eternity.

Psalm 115:17 -- The dead do not praise the Lord.

Psalm 6:5 -- In death there is no remembrance of thee.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 -- There is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, where you will go.

7. RESURRECTION
A future end-time Resurrection is paramount in God's plan to give eternal life to mankind.

John 11:24, 25 -- Martha said to Jesus, "I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day." Jesus replied, "I am the resurrection and the life, he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live."

Through the Resurrection, God provides life after death.

1 Thessalonians 4:13, 16 -- I would not have you to be ignorant concerning those 'who are asleep' (those who are dead) that you do not sorrow as others do who have no hope. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God, and the 'dead in Christ' shall rise first.

1 Corinthians 15:52 -- In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

8. ETERNAL LIFE
God gives the blessing of eternal life to the Redeemed.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 -- For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

9. DEATH
The lost do not live forever, therefore they do not suffer eternal torment in hell. (In fact, hell itself is destroyed in the 'lake of fire.')

Revelation 20:14 -- And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Matthew 10:28 -- Don't be afraid of those who have the power to kill the body, but cannot kill the soul, but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both the soul and body in Gehenna.

Ezekiel 18:4 -- Behold all souls are mine, the soul of the father is mine, so also the soul of the son is mine. The soul who sins shall die.

Death is sufficient penalty for sin.

Romans 6:23 -- The wages of sin is death.

10. ETERNAL BLESSINGS
The Redeemed will enjoy God's blessings throughout eternity, and will experience complete freedom from sin, sorrow, and suffering.

1 Corinthians 2:9 -- It is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the glorious things which God has prepared for those who love him.

Isaiah 65:17-19 -- "See, I will create a new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy. I will rejoice over Jerusalem and take delight in my people; the sound of weeping and of crying will be heard no more."

Revelation 21:10-11 -- He showed me the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. And it shone with all the glory of God.

Revelation 21:23, 24, 27 -- The glory of God will give light to the city, and the Lamb will also shine and will be its lamp. All nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendour into it. Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

The Redeemed live forever and praise God. Amen.

Revelation 5:13 -- They praised God, singing, "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honour and glory and power, for ever and ever."
